Samsung to buy Harman for US$ 8Bn

On November 14, 2016, Samsung Electronics announced the acquisition of Harman International Industries to accelerate development and time to market for connected car and autonomous

driving innovation. The announcement garnered overwhelmingly positive press stories worldwide.

Samsung and Harman will gain significant presence in connected car market with an addressable market expected to exceed $100 Billion by 2025.

Creates End-to-End solutions powerhouse by combining Harman's leadership in Infotainment, Telematics and Sound Management with Samsung's best-in-class connected mobility solutions, semiconductors, user experience (UX) and displays.

The combination of Samsung and Harman will empower OEM's to rapidly deploy connected car technologies and services as well as open platform solutions for autonomous driving.
